I created this infographic as a final project during my semester abroad. After I finished my internship at the Children's Emergency Room I was able to identify signs and symptoms of common illnesses we saw on a daily basis along with treatment plans. I created this infographic so parents could recognize and treat their children for common illnesses without needing to come to the emergency room. 

This project was meaningful because it deepened my understanding of how cultural perspectives and traditions shape the way families approach healthcare and treatment. I gained insight into the importance of listening to patients’ stories and respecting cultural values, which taught me how to approach care with empathy and respect. Creating the infographic also increased my critical thinking, communication, and translating skills by allowing me to transform  medical information into an accessible format for families. This experience aligns with my goal of becoming a physician with the ability to speak Spanish by preparing me to reduce language barriers and deliver compassionate care.

Creé esta infografía como proyecto final durante mi semestre en el extranjero. Después de terminar mi pasantía en la Sala de Emergencias Infantiles pude identificar signos y síntomas de enfermedades comunes que vimos a diario junto con los planes de tratamiento. Creé esta infografía para que los padres pudieran reconocer y tratar a sus hijos por enfermedades comunes sin necesidad de acudir a la sala de emergencias. 

Este proyecto fue significativo porque profundizó mi comprensión de cómo las perspectivas y tradiciones culturales dan forma a la manera en que las familias abordan la atención médica y el tratamiento. Aprendí sobre la importancia de escuchar las historias de los pacientes y respetar los valores culturales, lo que me enseñó a abordar la atención con empatía y respeto.Crear la infografía también aumentó mi pensamiento crítico, comunicación y habilidades de traducción al permitirme transformar la información médica en un formato accesible para las familias. Esta experiencia se alinea con mi objetivo de convertirme en un médico con la capacidad de hablar español preparándome para reducir las barreras lingüísticas y brindar atención compasiva.
